Transitional style

So let's all firstly appreciate the location in which I shot this outfit, it's not everyday you get to stand and take shoot your outfit pictures on an old air field is it? So this outfit is one of my favourite outfits at the moment and I think its all down to the combonation of this insane Boohoo khaki suede jacket paired with the gold and black sling back mules from Missguided. Khaki is such a transitional colour from winter to spring and I am certain that we will be seeing it everywhere this season!

Your must have makeup bag products..

So I thought I would change it up a bit on here and give you all a beauty related post - I hope that you enjoy it and let me know what you think!

So I thought to start off that I would share with you my "Essential Make-up Bag Pieces" These items are items that you need to have in your make up bag. Recently  I have started to build my make up collection as I have started to experiment more and more with new products both high street and designer. However these essential items are the items that I will never replace from a mascara that never strays to far from my lashes to a bronzer that never fails to bring out my cheek bones, these are the products that I really can not live without!

1. A Nude Lipstick

In my opinion, no makeup bag, or life, is complete without atleast one nude lipstick. When in doubt some people say that their go to lipstick is red but for me it will always be nude. With nude becoming highly popular over the last five months or so there are so many to choose from both on the high street and desinger. For me my favouirte nude is MAC 'Honey Love' - A nude lipstick goes with all eyeshadow colours, outfits and occasions. One bit of advice that I would go with when choosing the perfect lipstick is to make sure that you buy one with a clean satin finish as they mosturize your lips whilst wearing it. If your the type of person that prefers matte lipsticks then go with that but make sure that your lips are highly hydrated as there is nothing worse than dry and flaky lips!

2. Mascara  - Black or brown

Now im sure that most of you would agree that there is nothing more annoying than flaky mascara which makes you look like you've been wearing it for days as it sits half way down your face; although sometimes this can be helped by applying less, which im sure everyone had to learn throughout high school that spider leg eye lashes are not ok! As I am an eye lash freak buying expensive mascara is never a worry for me as I only apply a small amount before wearing my lashes. If you are looking for more of an unpmarket mascara then in my opinion the best are from Benefit, Dior or Clinique however if your like me and dont need or want to spend a fair amount of money then brands such as Collection, Barry M, Maybelline and Rimmel are my go to drug store buys. A little bit of black mascara makes a significant difference on the prettiest of faces, accentuating your eye's and making you look like you've had more than 8 hours sleep (which is most likely untrue if your a student like me) Making it an absalute essential in your make up bag!

3. Make up Brush (atleast for your foundation)

Ok so I am guilty of being someone that used to use my hands to apply my foundation (I know the shame) which is not only unhygenic but it spreads an discusting amount of dirt onto your face which can cause uncontrolable break outs! However in my defence I did'nt have any knowledge on makeup what so ever at this point in my life! Now that I am more knowledgable and make up friendly as I have grown up I have realised that your whole make up look depends on the tools used to apply it. Not only do they help you to complete a flawless makeup look but it will help you save your money in the long run as your not applying as much product! My go to make up brushes right now are Real Techniques as they are super affordable for a student like myself.

4. Concealer

No matter who you are, you NEED a concealer in your make up bag and if you haven't got one you need to buy one immediatly! This magical formula hides dark circles, evens out skin tone, hides spots and generally makes you feel and look 100x better. If you are looking for a highlighting look than buy a concealer that is one or two shades lighter than your foundation and apply it under your eyes and along the middle of your nose and I promise you will never turn back!

5. Foundation

Now I couldn't leave foundation out of my must have's could I? I think a good foundation has changed my life since the age of 15. My go to foundation is MAC studio fix fluid in N15/N20, the shade varies depending on whether I have fake tanned, which I usually have! Think foundation provides insane coverage and you only need a small amount on your makeup brush to do so.  Whatever you do don't apply so much foundation that your face starts to look dirty, we have all been there, and it's not pretty!

6.  Bronzer

I am not a huge blusher fan but I think that is mainly down to the fact that I have never really given it a chance. I dont feel that my makeup look is complete without bronzer. I swear by my Benefit Hoola bronzer which I have been using for the past 2 years and  I dont think that I could ever see myself turning back or leaving it behinde!

7. A Brown/Nude Eyeshadow

My final makeup bag must have has to be eyeshadow! Where would we all be without a good eyeshadow? A light brown for your base colour,  dark brown eye shadow for the crease of yor eye and a shimmery brown to add a bit of sass to the look! I believe that everyone suits a brown or nude eye shadow and like a nude lipstick they go with every outfit, every skin tone and every occassion. I dont believe that brand is highly important with eye shadow however eye shadows HAVE to have high pigment otherwise both your wasting your money and time applying it! My favourite got to eye shadow pallette is Urban Decay's Naked pallette number 1.

Smart casual

In my opinion there is no better way to make a casual outfit that little bit smarter than a blazer, don't you agree? And whats better than a sleeveless one? I can not get enough of them, I think that I may have to own one in every colour possible. With the warmer weather sleeveless blazers are perfect for layering over anything from a bodysuit, which I am sporting, to a statment blouse as they help to add that little bit of sophistication to the simplest of attires.

I couldn't help but pair this outfit with my absolutley insane Missguided heeled sandles. I have never seen a pair of shoes shaped quite like this before which made them stand out to me more, the pointed toe, in my opinion, creates the illusion of longer legs which is perfect for someone who wishes they were taller like myself!

Step into spring..

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you have all had a fab week and enjoyed the beautiful spring sun as much as I have, lets hope that the weather stays like this for the weekend!

So with spring truley arriving this week I thought that there was no better time to bring back the pastels and lets be honest there is no better form than a pair of killer heels, is there? Recently I have developed a huge obsession with shoes, so much so I think that I can now call myself a 'shoeaholic', so obviously when I found these super cute pastel pink court shoes in Primak for £9 I could not say
 no!

Am I the only person that believes impulse buys are often the best buys? I often find myself in a shop making sudden impulse buys of products that I am not sure that I need or want at the time but when I get home I am always so glad that I did and it usually ends up being the new favourite item of my wardrobe. So this happend with this powder beige bucket bag which is now one of my key summer accessories.

A whole lot of layering..

And I am back! I feel like I am always apologising for being away for so long but I truley am sorry! I am finding it difficult to get a photographer to take my pictures at the moment as both my mum and my boyfriend are super busy right now and both work full time however now the evenings are staying lighter for longer, fingers crossed I will be able to take regular blog posts for you again.

Onto the outfit, I am having so much fun recently learning how to layer up my outfits and I am super excited to start layering up thinner layers now that the weather is getting warmer and summer is quickly approaching! Layering an outfit is a great way to get use out of a number of key pieces and also allows you to mix and match whatever you have in your wardrobe. In this outfit I have stuck to black (oopsie) and tried to create more of an edgy look as I was having a rebelious attitude on this day so I decided to stick to dark colours to reflect my mood haha, however spring and summer is the perfect time to layer up over dresses and skirts as well as pair together different pastel and neutral colours! I cant wait to show you how I style up some of my new spring pieces, see you soon!
